In June 2008, we were pleased to award to Paul Smith the rank of 2nd Dan in Chi-Do Martial Arts.  Paul has been with us since 2000 and has shown the mercy and good grace that we look for in all of our instructors.  The award has been made by the concensus of the examiners, Master Tony, Sensei Norman & Sensei Carl Ryan.  He continues his practice here every Sunday and is a formidable exponent of Chi-Do.

On 1st May 2012 we were proud to award James Norman with his well earned Tai Chi 24 Forms Instructors certificate.  James is a naturally gifted teacher who shares his enjoyment & experiences from his daily practice of Tai Chi & Qigong with his class mates, colleagues & friends.  He has been teaching his first Tai Chi and Qigong class in Dorking since in June 2012 & continues his study & practice of the arts & teaching within Vicky's Tuesday evening class.

On the 26th October 2014 we were pleased to award James a very well deserved 1st Black belt after training in Chi-Do for 8 years.  He has proven himself to be a most worthy student of the arts and has earned the respect of his fellows and students in his Tai Chi classes.  Having shown more than the expected respect and having diligently studied the arts we are pleased to welcome him to the senior ranks of Chi-Do.

Team Chi Clinic - James, Vicky, Anne, Tony, Adam, Sue & Pete entered the London Competition of Traditional Tai Chi Ch'uan on 2nd June 2013 held in Hackney & organised by Gary Wragg & his team from Wu's Tai Chi Chuan Academy as part of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain's Judging Seminars Program.  We attended for the Sunday competition which was enjoyable & interesting, having insights & seeing enthusiasts from all over the UK & some from Europe performing many different forms & styles.  It is always inspiring to see others perform their arts & this spurs us on in our practice.  The expert judging was by top Masters Faye & Tary Yip (Deyin Taijiquan Institute), Masters Richard & Simon Watson (Longfei Taijiquan Association) all from our lineage & style.

We were rewarded for our efforts as everyone put in a good individual performance on the day.  James was awarded Silver in Health Qigong for his 5 Animals Play & Vicky was awarded the Gold - both were happy to have increased their points score from last year.
Vicky also went on to win the Bronze for her Tai Chi 24 Forms & scooped the Gold for her Taiji Kung Fu Fan Form.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable day at a friendly, well organised & fair competition with insights & new friendships made.  Thanks to all the experts who gave their time to make this another successful London Competition.

TeamCCLondonComp2014.jpg

This was our 3rd year of attending & participating in the London Competition of Traditional Tai Chi Chuan & Health Qigong on Sunday 1st June 2014.  Once again, well organised by Gary Wragg & his team from Wu's Tai Chi Chuan Academy in Bethnal Green on behalf of the Tai Chi Union for GB & their Judging Program & Faye Yip, President of the British Health Qigong Association.  It was well attended & with the added popularity, held at a larger venue with nice light space & good healthy food choices in the cafe.

Team Chi Clinic consisted of 9 players who entered the Health Qigong Group & Individual Events, Tai Chi 24 Forms at Beginners & Open level, Tai Chi 32 Sword Forms at Open level & Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan at Open level & Push Hands.  We had a magnificent day of learning & friendship whether participating, spectating or judging.  It was great to meet friends from all over the country & to make new ones too.  Our team did extremely well both as a Group & Individually which earned us 17 medals in total.  We feel so proud of everyone who participated & although it is nice to earn a medal, it is the friendship, taking part & practicing the arts we love & which are so beneficial to our health, happiness & life that is important!

LONDON COMPETITION 2015

On the 7th June 2015 we again entered with a team of 8 & were awarded 18 medals across all categories entered.  Details and pictures are on Facebook.  Great work team !!!  It is very rewarding to appreciate that our teaching methods produce Gold Medalists who are prepared to practice and learn with dedication to the arts.
