For the 8th consecutive year, Chi Clinic & Friends were in Nonsuch Park @ 10 am to connect with
the Healing Energy, practice, play & share the health & wellbeing benefits of Tai Chi & Qigong.
We were a smaller group than of previous years, due to the very wet & rainy weather, although our
motto for the day was "there's no such thing as wrong weather, just wrong clothes!' So in waterproofs,
boots, scarves & hats we enjoyed 2.5 hours of practice in the drizzle & between rain-clouds. It was so good
to get outside after a week of heavy rain & see how nature was soaking it up after our recent drought, everything so
green, so bright & alive.
After Vicky's welcome & Opening Statement from the founders,
Bill Douglas & Angela Wong-Douglas, we had a group warm up & practiced some basic movements. Tony then guided us in
sending Healing Energy to any who may need it. We all joined in with the practice of Tai Chi 24 Forms 3 times then were
given demonstrations of Taiji Kung Fu Fan by Vicky & students, Taijijian (32 Sword) by Irvin, Tony & Vicky, Taiji
Sabre by Irvin Morris of Longfei Taijiquan Assoc, Wu Style Short Form by Peter Ling of Energy Arts, Chi-Do Martial Applications
against boken & jo by Master Tony with Paul Smith, Simon Nell & James Norman, James showed the form he has created
from his practice of Chi-Do & Tai Chi, Vicky & Marta Arce-Dubois both BHQA instructors, with a group of dedicated
students performed Ba Duan Jin (8 Treasures) Health Qigong. After this everyone joined in as Vicky took the group through
Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi (18 Forms) to end in stillness & appreciation of the moment, nature around us & ourselves.
We then got together in Nonsuch Cafe for
some refreshments, a good chat & catch up.
